Intimate Party

I went back to my hometown last weekend despite the loads of order. I feel bad to both parents and customers so I brought back some of the fabric to cut there.

We planned to celebrate Nasya's party there. She loves her cousins so much and so independently wanted to be left with the cousins whenever we went out. Talking about big girl huh?


We got a cake from Secret Recipe, 3 packs of party stuff - party hats, balloons, horns and other noisy things you for party and 3 packs of balloons, each consist of 5 colorful balloons. Nasya made it clear that the party she wanted must have - cake, balloons and party hats. She didnt border the rest. She played the whole 3 days we were there. And asked me "This is my party?" "Im so happy!!" "Cakkkkkeeee?? Yayyy" "Whats that? Balloonsss? A surprise??"

My parents, as usual, every year, will give her a birthday present. So, they gave her a Barbie doll this year. You should see her reaction. Speechless. She got the present a nite earlier tho. In fact the other two cousins got presents too. So, no jealousy there.

This really made me think. You dont have to spend a lot to make a kid happy. She kept repeating she was happy for one whole day because of this small celebration. We had pulut kuning and rendang, murtabak - both were bought, cheesetarts and banana muffin my mom and I made that morning. I made her birthday dress months before, but it is too big, that I think I need to sell..*Who wants to buy?*

That nite, my sister brought the 3 stooges to a park and let them run wild. She slept soundly and accepted the fact that, the next day we had to go back to KL.

A very simple, intimate party and yet meaningful to all of us. I don't have to feel guilty for not entertaining guests, not that tired, Nasya don't have to get to know who is this, who is that, coz all to her is - my two cousins are the best.

Meaningful.
